Training & Skills-transfer

We provide hands-on courses and skill transfer for professionals in the mining industry using GEOVIA Surpac, MineSched and Whittle software – as well as providing practical courses on their in-house developed software such as Grade runner and Seam Sequencer. The following courses are available and customisable to the necessary requirements.

Geovia Surpac

  • Geology II: Intermediate Surpac use in Surfaces and Solids, DTM/3DM intersections, Sectional Interpretation and Surface Modelling, Database and Block Modelling.

  • Geology III: Advanced geological modelling, database management, Statistics and Geostatistics and Block Modelling, with QA/QC, Validation of interpolations, and Classification.

  • Mine Planning and Survey I: File tools, Surfaces and Solids, DTM/3DM intersections, Menu creation, design modes, advanced editing, manipulation of string data, intermediate Block modelling. Mine Planning- Pit Design: Pit and dump design using various methods and techniques for ramp and berm configuration and volume calculations.

  • Mine Planning- Drill and Blast: Drill and blast design setups and manipulation Survey: Survey Volumes and set-outs and connecting to and from Survey Instruments, Data Manipulation

Gemcom MineSched

  • MineSched - Underground: MineSched setup and running of schedules, reporting and visualisation. Mining methods geared towards underground scenarios.

  • MineSched - Open pit: Surpac preparation for MineSched short term schedules. Setup of schedule in MineSched geared towards open pit production Gemcom Whittle

  • Whittle optimisation: Optimisation using Whittle software. Setting up of models in Surpac, exporting to whittle, running schedule, analysing results and running of sensitivities as well as re-importing back to Surpac

RHC solutions

  • gradeRunner: Automated grade control procedures, to allow for efficient setouts of drillholes, interpolation, and extraction of flitch plans, in a repeatable, auditable, and efficient manner which can then be used to assist in reporting, and downstream processes
